Default Manchester Brass Fleur de Lys

Here is another recent addition to my Mancs collection. I am branching out from WW1 badges - so on even shakier ground than usual... does this one look OK? What would be the period of use (I think 1923 through late 1940's??)

Cheers, Ian.

I can't tell you whether it's genuine or not (though I think it is) but I can tell you that it was authorised on 9th March 1923 and became obsolete on 1st September 1958. There is a great Manchester Regt website somewhere or other - I'm sure someone will come up with the URL.

Ian,
this is a badge which has been well faked! Most of the fakes having short uniform sliders (like yours). All the genuine ones I have seen have a slightly tapered slider which protrudes below the bottom of the badge!

Thanks for the replies, gents.

Andy - don't suppose you can help me get a genuine example?!

Cheers,

Ian.
