Norfolk Cadet Badges
Hi..... Attached is a photo of my Dad when he was a Cadet in Kings Lynn Norfolk in the early 1950's. I'm interested to know if anyone can advise what the Number 3 means. Does anyone have a colour photo...of these badges?? Where can I buy these badges from?? Thanks in advance Hopalong. AUSTRALIA.

The badge in question would signify that he was in Number 3 Company of Norfolk Army Cadet Force. The badge is identical to a WW2 period Home Guard Battalion Identification Number and would normally have been worn (by the Home Guard) with a County Designation above it (WL for West Lancashire, LON for London, DHM for Durham etc). There may well be a forum member that has a "3" surplus to requirements. Good luck in your search

Would Norfolk ACF only have consisted of one Battalion at this stage? During the war and normally well into the 1950's most counties would have been on a battalion configeration.

So I think Reme 245, is correct in his statement, so maybe the photo is late 1950s Last edited by norfolk regt man; 27-06-21 at 08:19 PM. |

Your photo shows I believe, a cloth royal Norfolk, a cloth acf, a printed triangle with Britannia in the the middle( Britannia being the badge of the Norfolk regt) and a printed 3, . You should able to find all of these for £30.00.
