Default Capt David Moir (Trucial Oman Scouts?)

A young lady who lived in Dubai wrote:
"Capt David Moir (Trucial Oman Scouts) blew himself up in Dubai in about 1973; he threw unused explosives onto a fire by accident. He was really nice, it was a real shock."
Can any one tell me anything about Capt Moir and what unit he was in. TOS became Union Defence Force in 1971 but of course there were other ex Trucial States with British officers. Any help would be appreciated.
