Khartoum cap badge on a plate?
Hi guys,
I hope Im in the right section for Khartoum, my geography of that area is very poor. Apologies if im not. browsing on ebay I found a lot thats local to me, the seller is away!! so cant answer questions, for a copper plate with a badge on it of an elephant's head with a scroll below saying Khartoum. It looks like it could be a Military badge. I am hoping that maybe its a locally raised military police force. VINTAGE COPPER TRAY / DISH WITH KHARTOUM & ELEPHANT CENTRAL BADGE -MILITARY? Link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VINTAGE-CO...-/270824663740 Any ideas? Cheers Phil Im sure I probably upset somebody by posting this, sorry.

Hi,
This plate sold for just under £50, it appears it was possibly a military police item of some sort, looking at the bidders history. One to look out for in future!! Phil

Khartoum Badge
I believe that it is the Khartoum Company of the Camel Corps - I have that particular badge along with Northern Province (3 palm trees), Darfur (a small antelope).
Khartoum is an elephant because of the shape of the Nile at Khartoum reminds peole of the shape of an elephant's trunk. Best |

I have it listed as a police badge - there used to be a silver and enamelled version on sale here on the forum.
