Default NZ WW1 Trade or Specialist badges

Hi

I would appreciate any information on whether the NZ troops during WW1 wore metal trade or specialist badges or were the different specialists identified by cloth badges, or a combination of both?

Thanks in advance.

John

Regulation distinguishing badges worn on the NZ khaki service dress jacket were worsted embroidery of a drab mixture. In New Zealand worsted badges were generally produced by P. Robert and Company who were military outfitters and embroiderers, located at 15 Main Street East, Palmerston North.

However, overseas on active service it appears that many kiwis obtained and wore brass distinguishing badges, although I am unsure if this is due to supply shortages of cloth badges.
