Default Worcestershire & Sherwood Foresters Side Cap

Anyone able to shed light on the badge worn on WFR Officers' side caps please? The side caps had dark blue flaps and a green crown all edges in gold. Was it the gilt/silver/enamel metal version worn on Officers' forage caps and berets, or an embroidered bullion wire badge? If the latter, what colour was the background fabric? Thanks.

This was described as a mess dress collar badge but could it (also) be worn on an officer's side hat?
