So presumably the wrong numbers are on the backs of the badges or he has read them wrong?

Two different questions.
1. I need your expertise to identify these 2 badges. 2. Could you confirm too the identity of the crowns with numbers 8455999741140 & 8455999738907? Marc

I would identify the illustrated badges as follows:
Bullion crown in wreath on a white ground - depending on date is WO2 (RQMS) 13/18 Hussars, 17/21 Lancers Prince of Wales’s Own Regiment of Yorkshire, Gurkha Transport Regiment and Royal Corps of Transport. Black crown on scarlet - again depending on date is Junior Leaders, 2nd Gurkha Rifles and more recently the Gurkha Band of the Royal Gurkha Rifles. Tim
