Default Glider Pilot Regiment

Does this look right to people or is it a reproduction? I gather this design only existed in the 1950s

What gives it away? I read it was supposed to be white metal or silver. Is the Gaunt makers mark suspect? It seems like the most common fake makers mark from the very small number of badges I've handled.

Yes that particular style of mark with the full stop is a well know fake mark.

The few WW2 originals that were marked were smaller font size or 1950s were a larger font.

Three examples in whitemetal, frosted silver and solid silver. All made by Firmin, I have never seen one made by Gaunt. Note the feathers on the legs.
