Default WWII compton beret markings

Hello! What do you think about these markings? It has not got the discontinuos lines...but I am not sure if this is normal...thanks for your help!

I can't see the double row of stitchin...so I am
little suspicious

Compton Webb never made para berets until post war, someone has faked the date on it

Yes ..the 44 numbers are different than the 19...even the White ink is different!

Also, the '4' on the size is a different font to the '44' on the date...

Jerry is correct. Compton made maroon berets in 1955, 1964 and 1968.

But none were ever made with a faux leather sweatband so, my impression is that this is a complete fake.

Not my area of knowledge but the 44 looks crap as there have said looks like they removed the later date then painted 44 on. There must be more fake Para and SF stuff out there than anything. I bet people would fall over themselves to buy this on Fleabay.
