Default Cribyn: Passing of a fellow member

I wanted to pass along that Roger a fellow collector and forum member recently passed away.
Roger was avid button collector and extremely knowledgeable on this complex and varied subject.
He was always happy to share and help others with an interest and his contributions and opinions were greatly valued.
He will be missed.

Pat

Sad news indeed. I didn’t know Roger, but was always very impressed by his kindly, unassuming manner and his evident knowledge and enthusiasm.

A great loss to the forum.

When I received news of Roger's demise I was numbed. We had recently been engrossed in friendly email chats about our favourite hobby - buttons. Roger had a vast wealth of knowledge concerning military buttons and was exceedingly generous with his time and his advice. Shortly before passing away he told me that he was feeling unwell but adamantly insisted in honouring his assistance to me - a reflection on his altruism. Definitely a great loss.

Terribly sad news. Roger, selfless as always, was always happy to answer very basic questions on very basic buttons whenever I needed. A truly delightful chap and an enviable example of gentlemanly conduct. He will be missed.

Default Passing of Roger

Very sad news to hear about the death of Roger.
He was a very nice bloke , extremely knowledgeable, and was always willing to pass on advice and information on buttons to fellow collectors.
A sad loss to the hobby indeed.

I'm completely devastated to hear this sad news. A complete shock.

Roger and I started emailing back and forth ever since I got into button collecting. He was always encouraging and of immense assistance to me as I explored this fascinating new interest.

Truly a sad lost both as a friend and as a knowledgable collector.

It's a sad day today.

My thoughts and prayers will be with his family.

RIP Roger, you will be missed.

Roy
