Default 9 Armd Div

Image from today's Daily Express (from Manchester Evening News) - a couple who died recently with a few hours of each other. Based on his collar badges, would he have been a member of 15/19H in 28 Armd Bde, 9 Armd Div?

Mike,

Spot on - and another example of cavalry regiments wearing collar badges on BD.

Interesting to note that the RASC soldier in the attached photo, also serving with 9th Armoured is wearing what can only be a black beret.

Jon,
I knew a former Int Corps Sgt who from Normandy onwards wore a black beret while serving in 50 Inf Div's Field Security Section. It was not deep cover, he had simply lost all his other headdress and begged a beret from a friendly RQMS. Mike
