Well, at least a few of us will be remembering those who served in the coming days.
Not those designing the Olympic games posters though. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ce-Sunday.html I despair. "These people should realise that without HMS Belfast there wouldn't be an Olympic Games in London. They would be in Berlin." Wish I could airbrush the olympics from my life, I'm sick to death of hearing about it already

Considering the time of year I would implore my fellow members to try to watch and listen to this related modern video without shedding a tear;-

Grumpy,
You are certainly living up to your name Today! I feel that the content of this thread is more important than spelling! Eddie Last edited by ebro; 10-11-11 at 03:56 PM. |

"There are many kinds of sorrow
In this world of Love and Hate, But there is no sterner sorrow Than a soldier's for his mate." Last verse of "His Mate" by The Revd GA Studdert Kennedy MC CF (better known to the Troops in the trenches of Flanders as "Woodbine Willie") |

I bet the lads of the Great War could spell remembrance. For the record, I will be: raising the Church flag 8AM tomorrow and on Sunday, flying my own from the house, and ringing church bells for two services before attending one. We grumpy pedants have our uses. |

G'day Guys
We Aussies will also remember them, Lest We Forget. I attended the service at the Belgrave War Memorial, east of Melbourne. Regards Phil. |
