Hackles and Plumes
Hi folks
I have even more time on my hands so have started to photograph my hackles and plumes, please please if you have any corrections or suggestions don't hesitate to leave a comment. I have more unidentified ones than identified ones, some may be Commonwealth hackles some may turn out to be civilian. Any thoughts would be most welcome. And more to come over the next few days. Hello Sapper, That certainly is a unique collection you have there! Only into Artillery stuff myself hence just a couple of horsehair plumes for the busby badges. I can definitely see that a display case of some of those would not find much opposition to being placed in a prominent position in the home rather than in your “Man-cave”. Thank you for brightening up my day and sharing. Regards, David J.

Thanks David, I'm hoping that members that collect to specific regiments will have some expert knowledge on what their regiments wore and when, the Yeomanry are a mine field as are all those regiments posted to India who took it upon themselves to adorn their pith helmets.

RHA plume
Hi Sean, I’ve sent a message to your email but could not attach photo’s so I’ve included a couple here. The Victorian busby badge is of course a volunteers badge and perhaps that is why the plume appears to be different. The other badge I show is the one I mentioned in my email. You will see the similarity to the plume part and the attachment on your RHA O.Rs plume. Regards, D.J.
