Could someone please tell me a rough timescale for a badge marked J.R. GAUNT LONDON LTD please.

Sorry, I should have mentioned the badge is not anodised, it's brass.

I believe that Gaunt moved back to Birmingham in the 1960s (from London)
I can't find the exact date at the moment but will continue to search.

On both metal and also anodised badges I suspect this fairly uncommon makers mark was used for badges sold through the PRI / unit shop. Still therefore worn by soldiers although not issued over the counter in the QMs clothing store.

I suggest all were made in Birmingham in the 1980s and 1990s so the J.R.GAUNT LONDON LTD mark was used as an indicator of small run contracts outside the main MOD system.

Gaunt did not move anywhere as such. They had an office in London (administrative) and their factory was in Birmingham. They eventually closed the London office and all operations were then concentrated in Birmingham.
