There is a similar gold coloured badge (inscription :British Volunteer Ambulance Corps) in Jon Mills book Within the Island Fortress No4 The Mechanised Transport Corps.
Although it is described as a cap badge , the voiding and shape look like the collars in the photo. Perhaps Jon has more info. https://hatchfive.files.wordpress.co...9/captureb.jpg

The MTC offered the services of its drivers to the newly-formed and privately funded Anglo-French Ambulance Corps (AFAC).
MTC members retained their uniform and MTC marked helmets but replaced their MTC badges with AFAC cap and collar badges. See photo. Most of the drivers who had served in France went on to serve in Britain with the British Volunteer Ambulance Corps and wore the same design cap badge with the name changed. Jon |

If you look at the badge I posted in #4 it is solid but in the picture it is voided. Jerry

Thanks all, and yep Jerry, does seem to be the case - but then what fun would it be if you actually had them all and didn't have something to hunt for.
