Thanks for the info. Does anyone have an opinion as to the authenticity of this badge? And a value?
Lurch, aka Walter,,,, I love that!

As Dave (Lancashirefusilier) said, most/all of the polish badges were reproed at one time after 1989-1990 period with polish maker's mark which makes them harder, for the newcomers to distinguish the real from the fakes. The word here is "PROVENANCE",if you get it from a vet, better ask him first if he got it during war-time or bought it after the war, for vets reunions or as a memento of his service.
Looking at that one,the way it's made and the maker's mark on it, I would say GOOD. As for price, well whatever some collectors are willing to pay,I saw some copies on E**Y selling for US$150.00, so for a real one $$$$$$$$$$.

Thanks Jo, it is a nice badge but unfortunately I had to sell it.

Bill, I can show it on another forum with many collectors of Polish militaria if you like.

The pictures are good enough for identification.

Here's the thread:

You have to be a member to see the pictures, but they are the same as in your initial post.

I just recieved a message from one of the Wehrmacht Award forummembers:

The badge is 100% ok, even if it looks like it has been repaired at some point. Regarding the value - I would say around £250. Hope this was to any help.

Not bad eh?

Thank-you Luc. Excellent assistance.
As I indicated in the original post this badge is "on consignment" and I will be listing it in the classifieds soon.

Default Polish Para Eagle and Cross of Valour

I'm mounting my fathers WW2 medals and some badges.. Wondering what to insure them for.

Polish Paratrooper diving eagle with wreath in beak for combat jump.
Cross of Valour won for taking out German tank single handed at Arnhem.

Eagle with combat wreath and solid Arnhem provenance from a Cross of Valour winner? That would easily be worth a thousand pounds.

Hi I'm from Fife, my grandmother from leven area recieved this badge believed to be from a polish paratrooper.
It's different from the 1st independent polish para brigade badge. I'm just wondering if this is from a different unit or was this their old badge before the brigade was officially formed.
