Jonathan,

There is that, but hey, what can you do about it.

Hi Chaps,

I can't add anything constructing to this thread but just have to say that I love seeing some of these truly stunning badges, well done and thanks for sharing.

Cheers, Roy.

Roy,
Apart from knowledge sharing I think that's why most of us are here, just the sheer enjoyment of some of the badges that are out there.
Hwyl,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Yes I think your right on the money with that. After all no one can own or collect everything but it doesn't stop one enjoying other collecting fine badges be they individual or an entire collection.

Cheers, Roy.

You should put up an image of the 1st Glamorgan, now that's a HP showing the beauty of Welsh collecting.

Hi Nick. This is the one you showed on the other forum the other day, good to see some more pics of it. Someone on here might offer to buy it from you or you can list it in the sales section if you want, or perhaps someone will tell you the going rate as I assume you are still trying to get a valuation to sell it.

I have an Officers' one to the 3rd, sadly it's missing the central device.

Default Glamorgan Militia

I picked up a new item to the above & was reminded that I have a couple of other items which I’ve not posted before. For those that may find them interesting they are as follows:-

1. Royal Glamorgan Light Infantry Officer’s Shako plate worn 1864-78.

2. Royal Glamorgan Light Infantry Officer’s 1878 pattern Home Service Helmet plate.

3. Glamorgan Local Militia ORs Shoulder Belt plate worn circa 1808-15.

4. My latest pick up is I think to the Grenadier Company of the Glamorgan Militia circa 1760. The Regiment consisted originally of 6 companies of 50 men each and one Grenadier Company of 60 men. I have no idea what it was worn on but am guessing either shoulder belt or maybe apron or some such. The fittings on the back were originally provided with holes cast in. Unfortunately I cannot make out what was originally written on the sword. The central device between the sword and the lion’s tail is a leek.

Default Glamorgan Militia Officer's Cap Badge

A recent pick up is this unmarked silver cap badge worn by officers of the 3rd Welsh Militia battalion prior to 1902. Shown in as bought and cleaned condition. A nice heavy die cast piece.
