Default PAOLYC Helmet Plate 1860-70

Hi All

It was spotted by a forum member in 2021, who kindly tipped me off, on a Canadian website I have just paid for it and it will be on its way shortly.

I never thought I would own one!

Thanks all

More detailed pics once it arrives and I have cleaned it etc.

It originally had three threaded posts with square nuts, but they have been sawn off (highlighted in green). There are two loops soldered in place, E/W, for mounting.

It really is a proper hens tooth.

Lovely - and for whatever reason the fittings were sawn off thank goodness nobody hammered a few nails through it for display purposes.

I am familiar with the Canadian dealer you acquired this helmet plate from... have done business with him as well as he has some interesting high-end Victorian British and Canadian militaria. You have aquired a pretty spectacular piece in this plate. Well done... congratulations on your find!
