Lancashire Battalions The Parachute Regt
Is any one in a postion to give information about any battalions of the Parchute Regiment that had a connection with Lancashire or Liverpool,it seems to me that there are discrepancies with the information available in published sources.

(50th Indian Parachute Brigade) later 44th Indian Airborne Division :
151 renumbered 156 152 (Indian) Bn. 153(Gurkha) Bn. 15th(British) Bn. 16th (British) Bn. 17th Bn was formed and for a short time it was posted to 1st Brigade. after the war various disbandments, reductions and amalgamations too tedious to mention left One Parachute brigade numbered 16. Consisting of : 1 PARA (from4th /6th Bn.) 2 PARA (from 5th Bn.) 3 PARA (from 7th Bn.) However the TA formed the 16 Airborne Division; 4th Brigade (London): (later 44th) 10th Bn Volunteers 11th Bn (from 8th Middlesex Regiment (DCO) TA) 12th Bn. Volunteers 5th Brigade (York) (later 45th) 13th Bn. Volunteers 14th Bn. (from 4th Royal Hampshire Regt TA) 15th Bn. Volunteers 6th Brigade (Liverpool) (Later 46th) 16th Bn. Volunteers 17th Bn. (from 9th Durham Light Infantry TA) 18th Bn. Volunteers later reductions leaving one brigade 44th Ind 10th (City of London) Bn. 12th (Yorkshire) Bn. 13th (Lancashire)Bn. 15th (Scottish) Bn. 17th (DLI) Bn.
