My understanding is that many British PoWs held in Germany during the Great War returned home via Holland. These were not the same men that were interned in neutral Holland during the war who also returned via the same route.
Those members of the RMB held in Gronigen after Antwerp were allowed a great degree of freedom. Many were allowed periods of leave in the U.K. on the strict understanding that they returned to Holland for the duration. Your man's papers should be on Ancestry. |
