Default RND Armoured Car badges

Very pleased to have found these in an antiques centre yesterday. A nice original pair of RNAS Armoured Car Section collar badges - the bad news is that both have had their lugs neatly removed and replaced with a pin fastening (one of which has since been broken), the contemporary addition of the safety chain would suggest that they have been made into sweetheart brooches or perhaps lapel badges for a discharged serviceman to dissuade the "white feather brigade" - whatever the story, nice to find original examples of this badge amongst a sea of fakes . May be for sale in due course but just sharing for now !

Agreed, I think it is a very nice find and particularly nice to see the wear on the obverse, a very fine, used, matching pair.

So many collars, that are actually offered as original these days and are clearly not, appear to be brand new, usually because they are.
