Default Queen's Dragoon Guards Rank Slide

Hi Folks

I love that some Regiments wear weird and wonderful badges but any ideas on this one?

A standard QDG rank probably for a Squadron Sgt Major but why a King's Crown?

Is there some tradition in the QDG to merit this?
Regards
Sean
