The Royal Dragoons
I obtained these in a lot with a button I wanted, I think the title is genuine but I'm doubtful about the broken cap badge, whatever is genuine here will be available.

Well, I'm certainly not very keen on it either way, but, as it is broken, I would not consider it anyway, does not matter if you got what you actually wanted in the original lot.

Thank you for the reply Frank, it certainly looks like an examples on ebay described as 100% genuine, even down to the bending of it into an old shape.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-ORIGI...oAAOSwoylcTIT6 I think its a fake, interestingly its not from the same dies as the small vertically shanked fake Royal Devon Yeomanry badges which were around last year and I'm amazed it held together at all with the tiny amount of braze used on one lug. I will keep it as an example for future study, and the button it came with was a Tait Limerick 20th Foot (East Devonshire) which although dug up condition is rather nice. Rob |
