Jump Wings
Found these in the attic: -
Old jump wings from Rivers and the faded bullion wings from my Dress Blues. These bullion wings are the first Canadian jump wings ever made (and worn) with the new stylized Maple Leaf from our new flag. At the time they were made, the current style of Maple Leaf found on jump wings was the style shown on the set of cloth wings above. This set of bullion wings preceded the current style of jump wings with the new style leaf by many years. They were designed by myself and privately made in 1965 as replacement for the Kit Shop bullion wings on my Dress Blues. Also shown are the silver Mess Kit wings purchased from the Kit Shop. The back is maker marked, "Birks Sterling" and has two screw-on clutch fasteners. |

This are US Issue Canadian Jump qualification wings from
the 70s and late 80s. The ones that the wings are thinner and longer are 70s Style. |

Hi John, Could you post an image of the reverse of the 1 Canadian Parachute Battalion embroidered shoulder title?
Recce, Nice collection of Canadian Airborne material. The combat titles are nice, and appear to be a later issue pattern. There are several distinctly different issues for the Canadian Airborne Regiment combat titles. Some of the earlier issue had square corners. This example from my collection was issued before unification and has the somewhat scarce rank badge stars in combat. |
