Thank you for the documentation and for taking the time to post it. The next question is, did these regulations evolve over the life of the SSF and allow for more insignia to be worn on the parachute smock?

There is still the question concerning the issue of these smocks to 427 Sqn personnel.

I seem to recall that 427 Squadron was part of 10 Tactical Air Group in support of the SSF. I think that its members wore the Air Command badge, and did NOT wear the SSF smock. It may have been different for Air Force officers who were posted to the SSF Staff.

It really ticks me off when people steal your images and don't even have the courtesy of providing a credit. That's why I watermark my photos now.

I'm assuming that the subdued Ship's Diver badge was procured by 2 CER before the Combat Diver badge was instituted.

Thats an interesting photo. I just finnished searching about 40 issues of Maroon Beret the Canadian Airborne's magazine and I swear their was an article on the the history of the jump smock but I was unable to locate it. I can't remember where I saw it.
