Default Salvation Army Great War Medal

I have dug out of a box today this curious medal!? It appears to be a B'ham Hallmarked Silver Medal awarded to members of Salvation Army whom served in the Great War.. It has been inscribbed to 'Capt Jordan' on the reverse.. Does anyone know a bit more about these medals?

Very interesting, Sorry cant tell you much about the medal but I recently worked with a salvation army padre from Belfast, He believed he was the first since the Great war? We had trouble trying to find out what his correct dress should be other than the usual purple backed pips, Would love to see a picture of a great war Salvation Army padre, Sorry to digress, Kevin
