Default King' Own Scottish Borderers SLLV & BSTPA 1882 Badge

Really have no idea what earth this badge is (despite it having a KOSB collar badge at it's centre). Nice quality item with some age to it. Pin backed, gilded, multi part construction. Garter scroll reads SLLV & BSTPA 1882.

Any assistance in its identification gratefully received, it will be offered for sale once identified.

Thank you

PL

Could it be a volunteer KOSB battalion badge?
