Default British Airborne Insignia lot

Members of the Forum,
Would be very curious as to an assessment/comments by the membership regarding the following lot being offered for sale; https://www.ima-usa.com/collections/...ge-and-pin-set . Unfortunately, after several attempts was unable to extract a jpg of the lot. Apologies. Thanks and well done Wooffy, trust you will not too badly mind my purloining a copy of your efforts. Absolutely mind boggling asking price!!

If you are after genuine WW2 airborne insignia, this lot should not be on your wants list.

The 6 Commando is genuine enough, worth all of about £15

Those airborne insignia are not even good ww2 fakes. They have also been around for quite some time to my recollection.

Hi Team

Is this Peggie from the site, a fake?

Note the harpoon shaped spear and the paste back on the open weave backing.

The reason why I ask is that an opinion was asked on a previous thread and only one response.

If this is a fake then the one I posted must be a fake?

According to some it is a post-war made example but I disagree. If you closely look at the ends of the loose bobbin thread you can see that these are synthetic. Cotton ends show a different fraying.

Here's a working link to the thread Phill is referring to:
