I've noticed that a number of images that Andy's posted on various threads have "disappeared", it's really messed up at least one very good thread on Guards badges.

indeed, it would be helpful if the images were posted directly rather than linked to, even if from within the forum.

This is why I dislike ‘link’ demos so much.

Members often remove or change photos/albums over the years rendering links useless.

All eBay links die within 90 days with photos removed. Dealers regularly remove pics and change their websites again rendering links useless.

Even photobucket and embedded pics disappear after enough time and changes to the host website. Attached thumbnail pics seem the only way to ensure a thread is useful in years to come or we end up going round in circles.

Any threads relying on such links to demonstrate or highlight examples or points are therefore in time rendered completely and utterly useless as well as very annoying.

too true, I always post photo's direct to any forum on which I am posting.

Got this one in the post, with the hollow lower body which I think makes it early

Andy was banned and therefore, even if you "friended" him, you do not have access to his albums. It is a great shame as they were very informative.

Gentlemen, I would refer you to post 11 of this thread, which I reread from the beginning not half an hour ago. 2747 Andy was well known for his highly informative threads that often demonstrated the faults displayed on fake badges.

As I got to post 11, I noticed that 2747 Andy's link to his album didn't work and I remembered why. Later in the thread, I noticed that you were discussing links to photographs that no longer worked, and I thought that I would add my sixpence worth. I was clearly holding the stick by the wrong end and will now turn it round.

Happy Christmas to one and all.

That cannot be Andy Plewa's For Sale album. The badges are too cheap by several multiples of the prices being asked.

The "WWI teardrop", this badge has a longer than what appears to be the norm teardrop hollow on the back.
