Default Royal Malta Artillery KC pagree badge query!

Hi all and Happy New Year.

Got a query regarding the Royal Malta Artillery King's Crown pagree badge. Through my years of collecting military badges relating to the Maltese regiments, I've come across a few variants of the same badge. However I've recently put a doubt in my mind and I'm hoping you could help!

Attached are some images from my collection. As you might noticed some have sweat-holes while others have theirs less pronounced, others have lugs or lugs scars while others have sliders (which was normal for this particular badge).

My concern mainly is the lug type. The one on the right is slightly larger and the lugs differ from what I'm used too. Am I over-thinking this, or there's something not right??

Thanks in advance.

Much appreciated Andy.

Any ideas regarding the different sweat-holes?
