Default 16th Air Assault Brigade precursor, for a wider audience

A question has been asked of me and I only have a drawing to go on in Howard Cole Formation Badges of World War 2. Are these bird patches this crude ?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-Speci...557&rmvSB=true

is there a readily available publication which describes the XIV sign ?

Crude? They're almost flicking the V's.
I have one of the shields of a far nicer quality but which I suppose will be a non- original.

Measures about 47mm x 40mm, looks nicer before being "blwn up", ugly bird.

The XIV flashes are in my opinion WW2 period regimental flashes for the 14th Foot (West Yorkshire Regt) - worn here in the Falklands by 11 West Yorks. Mike

Probably a good call Mike. I don't believe these are specifically SOE. It may be an attempt to create a grouping with an implied connection to SOE Station XIV at Roydon in Essex which housed the Forgery Section.
