Peter makes a good point here. genuine badges were issued with the odd flaw. However if a known fake (such as the 7th londons) has a specific die flaw in it then I would replace any other example with said flaw with a better example. Flaws do exiust on genuine dies but not in the same places as the fakes!

Agreed, the badge looks very good as it is.

Yes I must apologise for my part in hiijacking Bill's thread too.

Regards

After about a dozen attempts I still cannot get a detailed picture of my HAC w/m badge by using my new-fangled digtal camera........now if I were to put a film in my 30 year old Pentax SP1000 and use close-up bellows, then the result would be perfect, but a roll of film in order to get a couple of photo's?

Mind you, I also have problems using my mobile phone, and am always pleased if some eight or nine year old kid is around to get a number for me.

I will try again later - might get a lucky shot.

John,

It's not always a simple task, taking a close-up of a badge is it, especially with unfamiliar equipment.

I sometimes resort to sticking a jeweller's loupe on the end of my digital camera's lense (two tiny blobs of Blu-Tack to hold it in place), then make sure the macro setting is selected before snapping away until the desired shot is achieved (if I'm lucky).

A bit of a hit-and-miss comedy of errors most of the time!

Regards,

PJ

Shining/glare is the biggest problem I find, even on a relatively dull badge.
