Default London Rifle Brigade - Cloth shoulder title

I am trying to identify a photo which dates from WW1. Unfortunately it will not scan to give a clear image of the insignia but it appears to be a group photo of members of an orchestra belonging to the 2/5th (City of London) Battalion (London Rifle Brigade).
It is just possible to make out a small bugle horn on the epaulette with a number (unreadable) above. At the top of the shoulders, however, there is a dark coloured cloth flash with the initials L and then possibly an R visible.
Could anyone kindly confirm that the LRB wore these flashes during WW1 please?
The 2/5th Battalion was based in Norwich and Ipswich in 1915 and the photo itself was taken in Southwold so, hopefully, I am going down the right road for correct identification.
Many thanks

See" British Territorial Units 1914-18" in the Men at Arms series by Ray Westlake and Mike Chappell- photo on page 36.

Rifleman of 5th (City of London )Bn,The London Regt (London Rifle Brigade)- according to regimental history the battalion in July 1915 introduced embroidered patch ( green"LRB" on black ground ) as a replacement for the blackened brass shoulder title T/5/City of London.

The photo shows both patterns being worn at the same time.

Hi PB
I am most grateful to you for this information because it confirms that my photo can only be of the 2/5th Battalion.
Many thanks indeed
