Default Canadian Airborne Officers Cap Badge WWII

I have had this for 20+ years.
Pick it up in the bottom of a badge box at a military fair in the UK.
I am thinking about selling it and am inquiring about authenticity and value.

See photos.

I am new to this.

Thank you.

Do I understand that you are having a poll to find opinions on authenticity and value of a badge that you intend to sell? If so it seems to me to be a misuse of the poll
facility.

Two posts, looking to make money.
I won't play.

Default Misuse of Poll

I am not new to this and like Phil have seen this before. So, not interested as well. This thread is a good candidate for deletion.

I guess I'm confused - what is the purpose of this forum, if not to exchange information on badges, their authenticity, and their value?

Put another way, what has the original poster done wrong?

Not understanding the outrage.

No worries as to authenticity; this is a perfectly good WWII officer's badge.

Its a good badge, his value is a little high, but its all what a person will pay for it.

I have no problem advising him of this, after all that's why I join the forums, to have open discussion and talk about badges, better than telling him to "go buy a book".

Amid the high minded talk about sharing information on the forum, nobody has given a firm answer on value with their name attached..
Spare me.

As an aside, anybody in this hobby who discounts the value of books should just stick to collecting bottle caps.

I'd call the badge good. Market value somewhere in the $1400 - $1700 Canadian range.

There.

My estimate was lower than Doug N's. Average has been about $1400-$1500, but of late prices are down and the last I saw sell fetched about $1100 CDN. I'd pm'd the original poster with that rather than run the risk of a forum flogging.

Phil, STOP, the last thing I need are more bottle cap collectors. Competition is already getting stiff out there. I gave up on badges. As for books, I got em coming out my ears.
