PPCLI officer's margariette pattern Firmin

Gentlemen,

The information on the PPCLI bronze badge came from a Ministry of Supply Contract book that only covered the period 1939 to 1946. It can be found in the National Archives, Kew, London under reference SUPP4/152.

I am currently transposing the information to a spreadsheet as my photos aren't the clearest, not to mention copyright issues if I post them on-line. If any one wishes to see a copy of my spreadsheet please pm me with an email address.

In regards to the date of the Firmin Badge being ordered by the Officers Mess 1934, I had mentioned a picture frame presented to Lady Patricia, the Colonel in Chief, on March 17, 1921. I was able to take a look at it today, but I will apologize for the quality of the photos, as I used my phone. The badge on the frame is a Firmin Badge, which you can just make out the top of the lettering on the reverse of the badge.

Bill, that would be my guess. We know that the bi-metal/colour existed well before 1921. Unfortunately the records that are held within the Regiment are far from complete.
