Default Unknown Q/C Badge

First off apologies if this is very much a schoolboy error not being able to identify this piece! I've checked the couple of books I have and searched online but can only bits and pieces, although one article featured a white version of the badge on a page about the Grenadier Guards.

As the books I have are just British badges my best guess is that it's from another commonwealth country, or that it's a badge that's been introduced after the publication of said books. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Joe

Part of the shoulder title worn by the Grenadier Guards above separate letters ‘GG’
Found in gilding metal and also gold anodised.
