Default Collar badge for ID please

Morning all,

Any idea on this collar badge please?
The chap in question was Royal Fusiliers from at least 1909 right through to post First World War, but the collar looks like a curled leaf to me. Any help putting me out of my misery greatly appreciated.

Do you think? I thought it looked a bit like a sideways S shaped leaf, on the collar on the right. Looks weird.
Suits me to a tee if it looks like a grenade, cos that's what it should be. Anything else would bung a grenade in my research.

Yep, that's them, RF grenades.
Being a Fusilier they're so highly polished they dazzle the viewer.......

Default Ref Collar Badge ID

As soon as I saw the image it was Hong Kong Collar badges portraying Dragons. Consulted Volume 1 of British Colonial Badges Book by Barry & Margaret Renfrew and Bill Cranston. On page 157, Figures 931 & 932 show left and right collar badges. although they are shown against the HK Military Service Corps at later date (in chrome) they could have been a generic badge earlier in white metal. Anyway that is my interpretation for what its worth?????
Harry.

Yep, just the ball of the grenade and flame viewed at an angle.

Ooh er dragons, I still can't see the bottom of the grenade, weird, but they should definitely, definitely only be grenades, he was a career RF man. But now I can't get dragons out of my head
Thanks for your input all. I think we can at least all agree he was a very smart man with an impressive tache.

Agreed, and if you squint at the right one you can see the grenade flames and maybe the ball, just the bit sticking out under it makes it look weird.

If you give it the "thousand yard stare" (like the guy in this pic) , no one will disagree with you !
