To add to Alan's answer, the badge is the US Army Glider Badge. They have been reproduced, so caution is advised.

Yes, that is a US glider badge worn by the glider troops in the Airborne Divisions in the US army . Additionally, that one is British made and looks good to me. Over here, British made Airborne items are highly sought after.

I take it its the pin that shows it to be British made? Wouldn't want to land like that. Regards, Paul.
