Mike,
no, it is likely to be a fake! The OSD collar badges were full size however the OR's were smaller and a distinctive shape, squashed with an enlarged crown.

I think when you posted "Not my Area", most would have agreed and not bothered to post!

as I said you would be lucky to get a good one for £8, even the fakes sell for a Tenner!

But I agree that it is worth paying a little more for an un-repaired item when it comes to run of the mill badges!

Tank Corps OSD collars are half size aren't they ? I don't remember seeing a full size one.

I must be out of step here as monetary value means very little to me in respect of badges. I have a DCLI cap badge that was repaired by using a split pin in place of a slider and find that one of the most interesting in my collection as it probably shows that some squaddie was so proud of his badge that he went to the bother of having it repaired , as a matter of fact I did a few quick repairs on badges , and other pieces of kit , for lads while I was in the army.
