Default RCR Badge

I've been trying to practise with my digital camera and have used my best RCR badge as photo subject. Hope you like both the picture and the badge.

Poor picture Jim. Save yourself the creative agony and just send the badge to me....along with all the officers "stuff" you have.

Cheers,

Greg

Default Era

With the Tiptaft B'MAM hallmark, is this the correct badge for WW1? Or?

I think you are right Jim, based on the crown and cypher.

Manufactured some time between 1894 and 1926.

Even if the die was originally created before 1901, it's not unlikely that it wasn't brought back into use during the Great War if the Regiment was actively seeking new stocks of the Guelphic crown badges outside the official supply system (which was producing EviiR and GvR badges between 1901 and 1919). Similarly, once the VRI cyphered badges were once again officially approved in 1919, the manufacturers would have returned to using the dies available to supply the Regiment.
