Default 16th Armoured Brigade or 21st Tank Brigade?

I've recently purchased this Armoured formation patch, and I've found it described as the diabolo of the 16th Armoured Brigade, but alas also as the device of the 21st Tank Brigade. Is there somebody who could help? Thanks (well... tanks! ) in advance!

Hello there,

Nice badge.

Confirmed as 16th Armoured Brigade - Formation badges of WW2 - Cole - Page 124 - 1993 revised edition.

21st Army Tank Brigade - Black diablo on vertically divided shield of RAC colours yellow/red. Same page as above.

Default It's not 16 Arm'd Bde...

... because 16 Arm'd Bde was never raised. This is the badge of 21 Arm'd Bde.

main problem is that the otherwise authoritative Guido Rosignoli writes this is the patch of the 16th Armoured Brigade, but internet sources I've found mantain this is 21st Tank (not armoured) brigade... Rolfi, have you got any references?

I await the definitive answer. I must say that because it was in the book which was at hand, I took it as gospel. If I am wrong then I stand corrected.
