Officer's uniforms, badges and insignia remain a problem area to research and identify given their practice of using private military tailors and purchases.
I recently obtained a photo album of a member of the 4th SAMR who later joined the SAP and who was actively involved in the 1922 strike. He was a machinegunner in the unit and they remained behind after the campaign for policing duties. The variations of headdress and uniforms are amazing at times and as stated by Andrew, a great possible field for research. I will keep working on this post and adding new aspects as they become available. |
