Sorry- F Narborough -F.N. is a maker who made badges during The Great War- England marked badges are thought to be fake badges from the 1970s-though they may well have been made with original dies- making them true restrike/restruck badges. Both types used similar shaped sliders. Makers were instructed not to mark their badges during The Great War- though some still exist from that time, but a low percentage compared to unmarked sliders. Maker marked sliders have also been faked. That's as I understand it, others may add or correct! Regards, Paul.
A bit late to this one and perhaps a bit off topic. Without meaning to send this thread off on a tangent I think there is a debate to be had as to whether F.N. were a WW1 manufacturer.

Ticker’s excellent research in this thread https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...er+trade+board shows metal badge contracts 1914-18.

F.E. Woodward, Smith & Wright, Bodill Parker & Co, Armfield & Co etc are all present. However it’s rather telling F. Narbrough is absent considering the wide variety of badges they made and how comprehensive the trade board list appears to be.

Also raises questions IMO as to the authenticity of the FN made/marked all GM South Wales Borderers badges seen from time to time.

FN made 'London Scottish' shoulder titles marked with their full name to the reverse, as I understand that title was in use during (from 1915) the war but stopped in the early 1920s. https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...2&d=1255538984 Not sure if I have seen this title without the mark- so that's one point that may show them active in the period. Regards, Paul.
https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ght=Narborough Thread I started a few years ago.

Paul
For what it is worth, I too have a London Scottish title with this maker mark.
