TCCC patching
Question about the "T 3 C" patches. Are the personnel qualified on this medical course required / entitled to wear the patch, whether they are Medical personnel or not?

TCCC trained soldiers are not medics, but other soldiers trained to administer immediate aid. From the looks of it, the TCCC identification is shown on non medical corps individuals. Second part of question remains. Medics still do not carry small arms on active service?

BillA, I am currently in KAF I will keep an eye out for any armed medics. As there are standing orders that ALL military personal be armed at all times, I would not be suprised to see them with a side arm. Since I just bought a new digital camera here, it might make for an interesting photo.
Nice to finally know what TCCC actually means, I see CF members everyday at the DEFAC with this patch. I have wondered what it ment.

Troops, having recently returned from KAF I did observe armed medical pers. Everyday I would see doctors, nurses and Med A's, some who I know (to include the CO and RSM of the Role 3 Multi National Hospital), wearing their side arms or C7/8 in KAF. In the field I've seen the same. In fact just the other evening on 5th Estate, there was documentary on the Role 3 MNH, and if one looked you would've seen medical pers (again including the CO) wearing sidearms. I was employed at the RC(S) HQ and even there our medical pers in staff positions wore sidearms.
