I had to post this photo as I LOVE the expression on the Army guy's face!
Photo taken at a dance dated Oct 14, 1943. & noted - "another snap for you from yor old friend Chief Jeffries". The WRCN is standing beside an older Chief PO who is wearing the War medal ribbon from the Great War - I think possibly her father, as he certainly would be old enough to be her father! The Army guy {he appears to be a Private as I dont see any rank insignia on his sleeves, but he does wear three war service chevrons on his left cuff} is also wearing ribbons for the Great war (WWI trio). I dont know what was going thru his mind at that instant in time but its his expression I love! Bryan |
