Yes, thanks - although I knew the measurements of the small badge I was still surprised at how small it is when I had it in hand.

On the cap it doesnt look too bad. If you see it in the beret it looks terrible,the badge is set quite high up . Theres a massive gap between the beret band and the bottom of the badge ,It doesnt look right at all.

Very interesting to see the photographic evidence Mike, even the officer’s collar badges are manifestly larger than his forage cap badge. It’s interesting to reflect that whereas officers (and battalion staff) had worn a much larger badge on forage caps than their soldiers pre-1902, by the 1960s the exact opposite had become the fashion. Each in their own way rather elegant.
