Default NORTHERN IRELAND Cloth Title

Gold wire embroidered on khaki. Seen for sale recently on eBay. Who would have worn this shoulder title?

Question NORTHERN IRELAND Cloth Title

The front looks great, the rear photo is very untidy IMO, could be very modern.

Default NORTHERN IRELAND title

Hi Danny, Could be wrong but look at the NEWFOUNDLAND and CHILE
titles in Robins auction, they look like a match. ATA Air Transport Auxiliary nationality titles WW2 era.

Country titles like these were largely unofficial and there is little evidence of them being worn except in the ATS where a range of them were authorised for wear. They were widely available for those who chose to buy and wear them.

Conscription was not enacted in Northern Ireland so all servicemen and women from there were volunteers and some understandably would like to show that they had volunteered. The khaki backing ang gold wire embroidery would suggest it was intended to be worn by an officer.
