Cheers James,

haven't seen one of those before. I did see a 10th anniversary one at Bowburn fair last sunday on a dealers stall but was not for sale.

Hopefully the link will have taken you to the 1917 badge in my album. The one that I doubt I will ever find is the Hartlepool 10th anniversary Bombardment badge……I have only seen a photograph of one and I believe it is in a museum somewhere….I imagine it would be way above what I could afford. I have the 1918 badge but without the pin and one day I might get around to finding a jeweller who could fit a new one…….but then again, it is a nice badge as it is pin or no pin.
I have the Scarborough Bombardment medallion but am surprised that Whitby did not produce a memento.
Cheers
James

This one… https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...ment-278798159 ?

As it’s on worth point it must’ve sold on eBay at sometime or another. If anyone is a signed up member I’m sure they can tell you when it sold and what for.

I have seen a photo of the badge you mean. It is a very striking design and with the WW1 Specials being an interest of mine, I would love to find one. Congratulations on that…….a real treasure. Unfortunately for health reasons I rarely get to any of the fairs these days.

Thanks Luke. Nice to see an example. They are very rare I believe but I have never had chance to study one carefully. I think my best chance would be an auction as a collector of home front badges decides to sell. Similarly Marks Hartlepool Special Constable badge. I certainly envy him that one.
Cheers
James

Absolutel cracker of a badge. What is its overall size….it looks to be a large badge? I certainly envy you that one. It is a lovely badge and a very rare one I should imagine. Very nice find indeed. Hope you don’t mind but I have taken a screen shot for future reference. The other thing I like about it is that it really does have that feel of ‘history’. I very much appreciate you posting that for me. Thank you
Cheers
James

Pleased to pick up these Gurkha badges amongst a recently purchased ‘father’s collection’ on eBay.

Good set of officers, boss badges with additional 2GR and 10GR mounts.

Also some long lug hat badges with tartan backings.

Thank you so much. Look forward to seeing your other Bombardment stuff. Following the Bombardment, Germany Produced a medallion for the shops that took part…….impossible to get hold of unless you have a good bank balance. Scarborough produced a medallion…..I believe an enterprising newspaper editor but these appear from time to time on eBay.
