Depends on the year, early on they did use a Bullion Badge at times, but mainly a Left Facing Gilt Collar Badge if in metal.

From 1960 they started to wear a Queens Crown Bullion badge on both the Beret & Side Cap.

Officers Jerry, don't think the collar with the Latin "Sua Tela Tonanti" was use, too late think 1947? The one I am thinking off was the collar "Royal Corps Army Ordanance" but wish to confirm this! Am going to post some pictures tomorrow for sure maybe tonight if lighting is fine?

The collar poses a problem in that when worn on the Sidecap the "Gun" can be firing Forward (my thoughts this is right?) or could be firing to the rear, (symbolism would suggest that you are firing on your own lines?? and Not used?) Don't know, could both have been used?

All the best billy

The military tailor normally provided the correct badge and maybe ordered in left facing collar badges from the manufacture/supplier? I have never however found reference to this...

The "Royal Army Ordnance Corps" badge was in use from 1918 till 1947 and I looking for a bullion example of this. John Mckenzie has one.

I think the use of a collar badge size on the side cap was because the officer cap badge had long lugs.

The Kings Crown 'wide tonanti' badge had a short life 1947 till 1953 being replaced with the Queens Crown 'slim tonanti' both of which were used in side caps.

Jerry, the OR version always used the currant full sized cap badge

When used as a matched pair the collar badges face inwards, and on the side cap should face forwards bur the detail is so small you would have to really look to notice.

Modern RLC collar badges omit the trail so can be worn either way!

These are not the best of pictures but lighting not good and either too bright or in shadow, have tried but this is the best I can do and hope they convey what I'm after?

1st 1947 - 1949 marked "P" in the Crown and J.R. GAUNT bottom. Enamalling flush with motto.

2nd 1947 -1949 no markings but motto fretted and Enamalling to bottom.

3rd Enamalling flush with motto, "Royal Corps Army Ordanance" no marks to rear, this I think is the one used for the sidecap as "Gun" would point forward!

Other Officers Collars and Officers badges, have an Officers K/C alongside collar No3 (noticed a blade though still attached is just about to break off!!! ( a pity as a very nice badge!) Same size but a New Zealand badge also.

Officers K/C & Q/C badges with collars all K/C, those with the kings crown badge are to J.R.Gaunt others with q/c are umarked.

Enjoy would like to hear your views on the collar No3 regards if this is worn in the sidecap, the collars No1 & 2 are requiring their opposite and are both different thought both the same and could have exchanged but will keep together, is there a reason forvthis? different manufacturer's or has design undergone a re-vamp? Opinions welcome! many thanks Billy
