Default Denbighshire Hussars? Unknown Territorial Rifle Regiment

I think the mounted mounted soldiers are Denbighshire Hussars, Boer war period, though the back of the card is post marked 1908 Liverpool. The Rifle Regiment postcard is from the Newto Abbot area and I personally can't make out what the regiment is on hisoulder title, other than 6th Territorial battalion. All opinions welcome.

"T/6/CITY OF LONDON"? (The "OF" being in lettering about half the height of the rest and joined at the top corners to the "Y" and the "L").

I did think of the 6th City Leigh. But I don't think they had a red border around the shoulder strap, and the top of the hackle should be darker I think. Perhaps it's not City of London, or the person doing the tint work got the colours wrong. The left shoulder strap isn't tinted but does seem to have a dark border. Am I right about the Denbighshire Hussars?

The 6th Londons had scarlet facings but I think you're right about not having the scarlet edging to the shoulder straps.
As you say though, artistic license by whoever tinted the photo, adding the shoulder strap piping and lightening the black of the plume?
Is the left shoulder strap not just shadow rather than a darker edging?

Looking at the original photo the left shoulder strap has been tinted, it's not shadow. Mike. I saw that illustration you have posted and that's what made me think not the C of L. All things considered I'm happy that the subject is 6th C of L, with a bit of not quite right tinting, unless anyone can prove otherwise?

Agreed, I think the last photo in post no. 1 shows that fairly clearly.

Do you reckon there's a badge on the boss on the rifles cap?
I could interpret the image as showing a large lion on crown badge, but don't see how that could be the case.
Does anyone know what colour the cords, boss and top vent would be on the 6th City of Londons cap please, black or dark green?

I would expect something like this which seems to be a generic badge for Rifle Battalion busbys

Thanks - I think, now I look more closely at the image, that's what's shown - I'd considered it but dismissed it as I got the scale wrong - a black, stringed bugle looks right to me (scratch dog in a basket).

Leigh. If you look at the great war forum link that Mike has posted, the Busby seems to have grey cording and top, black boss and silver bugle. The hackle also has a double banding and not single. The plate shows a circa 1910 uniform so perhaps there was a change in style?
